Narrative Description
Reporting to the Regional Director, The Americas, the Country Manager is responsible for representing IATA in all areas of Safety, Operations and Infrastructure, Member & Government Relations, Marketing and Commercial opportunities. A key responsibility will be the operation and development of all aspects of the IATA Settlement Systems in Canada in accordance with governing IATA Resolutions, where applicable. He/she will ensure a high standard of customer service, cost-reduction and revenue-generation in Canada.

Responsibilities
Act as an IATA representative in the country. Build, lead and supervise a team spirit that promotes IATA's values and ensure a service-driven, customer-oriented and business-minded organization;
Maintain close liaisons with airlines, agents and their associations, other industry partners and government bodies on behalf of al IATA's divisions;
Lead the local field office team and manage the IDFS function including customer services and the IATA Settlement System;
Prepare and control the IDFS budget, the adjustment of monthly projections and explanation of variances versus actual as well as manage fraud prevention cases;
Ensure the reconciliation of hinge accounts and that irregularities are handed by the support staff;
Ensure that the local office is operated on a sound commercial basis, within the operating plan, business objectives and agreed budgets, per the appropriate IATA Manuals;
Provide timely financial and operational reports as well as relevant information for key business decisions and long-term strategies.

Qualifications and Skills
University degree in Business Administration or related discipline such as Economics and Finance;
Eight to ten years of management experience, with at least three years of experience in the travel/transport industry;
Proven commercial background including experience in sales and marketing, entrepreneurial flair and strong negotiation skills with exposure to government bodies;
Excellent and prove capability in diplomacy;
Ability to communicated effectively with people from different cultures and backgrounds within and outside the organization;
Sound knowledge of information technology and its application to ISS and Agency Program Operations;
Excellence in written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
